25 years Zijdelings

In 1986 Zijdelings started with painting on silk.
Now - 25 years later - the studio is well known for various textiles and surface design.
In order to celebrate this anniversary there will be 4 special days, filled with mini workshops and demonstrations.

Instructors are Cherilyn Martin (English born, but living in Holland)
and Gil De Vloo (Belgium).

Cherilyn will be teaching as follows:

Fusible fibres and foils: Wednesday 7/9 from 10.00 till 12.30
Rusting contrasts: Thursday 8/9 from 10.00 till 12.30
(unfortunately these mini workshops are already full and cannot be booked anymore)

On Wednesday afternoon Cherilyn will demonstrate how to use and work with UTEE and the Suze Weinberg electrical melting pot.
On Thursday afternoon she will give a demonstration in Encaustic Monotype mainly on paper.
These demo's run from 1 p.m. till 4 p.m. (free entrance)

Gil De Vloo will be teaching 2 mini workshops as well:

Creating your own silk fiber cards for special occasions: 
Friday 9/9 from 10.00 till 12.30
Create your own woolen necklace from woolen jersey:
Saturday 10/9 from 10.00 till 12.30
(both mini workshops are already fully booked as well)

On Friday afternoon Gil will demonstrate thermofax screen printing
with various media: (paints, discharge paste, devore paste,
expanding paste, foil on adhesive (combined with textile foils and flock) 
and acyrlic wax in combination with rusting powder.
Visitors are also allowed to have their own 'thermofax screen foils' made, using designs from Gil De Vloo or bring their own designs to be filmed
(payment required though)
On Saturday afternoon Gil will show how to make rubbings on fabrics with MARKAL/SHIVA paintstiks and/or textile crayons (suitable for all fibres) and CRAYOLA transfer crayons on synthetic fibres and non wovens only.
These demo's run from 1 p.m. till 4 p.m. (entrance free)

however, please, be aware that they will be Dutch spoken, but of course Cherilyn Martin can also explain in English.
