This workshop is an introduction to textile design using the Graphixscan for precise and efficient module cutting in synthetic fabrics.
The Graphixscan uses a computer-controlled laser beam which very precisely melts and cuts the fabric, leaving neat sealed edges.
During the workshop you will learn how to design and laser your own module or combine already cut modules to create a three dimensional fabric.
This fabric will then be used to make a pillow, curtain, table runner, bag, scarf, or other object of your choice.
Learn how to design and combine 4 or 6 sided small fabric modules to create unique and interesting fabrics.
About the workshop
After a short introduction the participants will take turn cutting out the modules of their choice on the Graphixscan.
During that time, the other participants design their own modules, try out different combinations of fabrics and shapes, and assemble their own modules into a finished product.
The workshop will take place from 10 am to 4pm at the Audax Textilemuseum.
From 4pm to 5pm, the participants are welcome to visit the exhibitions of the museum on their own.
An assortment of suitable fabrics will be provided for you to purchase for the workshop. You may also bring your own 100% synthetic fabric to try out, but results are then not guaranteed.
