Embossing Powders - high and low relief with Cherilyn Martin

Embossing powders are already well known in the Hobby world, where they are used in a classical way.

During this workshop we will concentrate on experimenting with this product and using it creatively.

Embossing powders will be used in combination with diverse surface design techniques such as thermofax, printing and stencilling, in order to explore relief.

We will experiment on hard surfaces, such as metal, paper, plastic and wood, which lend themselves more to obtaining graphic effects and low relief.

Soft surfaces such as kunin felt, lutradur and colback will be used to create texture and high relief.

The samples made in the workshop will further be stitched by hand or machine to give the surfaces an extra dimension.

The ideas which result from this workshop are suitable for use in quilt and embroidery work, book and paper projects and in other creative work.
