Marga van der Bos (1958 Blauwhuis NL) is a cultural entrepreneur and designer. With more than 20 years of experience in designing and producing ‘couture‘ hats, and as teacher in educating candidate hatmakers.Her shop/ gallery is located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
As well as producing ‘couture' hats Marga van der Bos creates autonomous objects labelled VANDERBOS. The main theme of these objects is wearability. Wearable or not, that's the question. This continuous search leads to bodywraps and free sculptures called ‘embracements'. Vanderbos uses industrial felt and a mix of patterns and ‘moulage'. Rhythmic appliance of folds and seams are characteristic in her artistic work.
