More Hot Stuff - HPV+

During this workshop we will continue to experiment with the hottest and newest Non Woven i.e. Heavy Pelmet Vilene Plus. (HPV+). This is a sturdy non woven material with a sticky side. Like all synthetics colour can be applied to this fleece by using transfer dyes and/or Crayola crayons.

We will use various materials to decorate and embellish the surface such as: 
Silk fibres & Merino wool. Angelina fibres and Angelina film as well as transferfoils will be added and transformed by free machine stitching in order to create a rich texture. The soldering iron will be used to engrave the surface. Because of the sturdiness of this polyester non woven it is not only possible to work 'flat' but also to create 3D forms.. During this workshop we will pay attention to the making of e.g. boxes, special folded booklets (leporello), vases or free-standing objects.

This class is a must for (art)quilters, embroiderers, mixed media artists and textile surface designers who want to fully explore the potential of this material
