Petra Vonk

Petra Vonk is a textile designer for interior and fashion. After graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven she worked as a knitwear designer for various  international labels for quite some time. A few year ago she started to create her own work again. In her studio she experiments with new material manipulations and she develops her own new knits. Her fabrics are being used to improve accoustics and light(dimming) act as room and space deviders and also as decorative elements in spaces. Starting point is a synthesis of hightech techniques and traditional craft focussing on knitted fabrics. 

Petra Vonk takes commissions from private persons as well as from companies. She also lectures at the Art Academy in Maastricht and at the AMFI (Amsterdam Fashion Institute) in Amsterdam.
