Rusting the Surface

In this workshop we will explore the possibilities of working with "Rusting Powder". Using this powder rusting is a less lengthy process than by using the traditional rusting process.

Cotton, silk and paper will be used as base materials and treated with the powder using several surface design techniques.

Stamping, stencilling and resist techniques will be used to explore pattern and mark-making.

Acrylic wax and black gesso will be used in these processes.

Surfaces will be enriched with Gilding Flakes and Transfer Foils.

During the workshop these experiments can be further embellished with hand or machine quilting and embroidery.

your tutor however is English born so it would not be a problem to attend for English speaking participants.
