Workshops Felieke van der Leest
Dierlijk Geheim / Animal Secrets
In this workshop you will learn the two basic crochet stitches: the chain stitch and the single crochet stitch. Lines can be made a.o. by using the chain stitch which can be secured with the single crochet stitch. The base for the necklace is a simple animal drawing which can be crocheted with cotton. When you wear the necklace you will see playful lines of coloured crochet work. But if you put the necklace down on a table the secret is revealed....which animal you made and carry with you!

Dieren Ring / Animal Ring

The stitches used in this workshop are the chain stitch, the single crochet and the double crochet stitch (and maybe the triple crochet). Participants should know how to make those stitches. First we start to crochet a basic ring form in your own size. Then you can choose which animal you want to put on top : if you like butterflies you can crochet a butterfly ring, but if you prefer mice....you will make a mouse ring.

Be crazy, drape an animal around your neck!
First stop is a toy shop to buy yourselves a plastic toy or to dive into the pile of toys of your own or other people's children, you probably will find a suitable piece to use for this workshop.
This toy will be the basic form to create a necklace. Use your imagination and start to crochet! Hats, socks, a dress or maybe a tail - everything is possible and everything is allowed..(We have a saw in case you want to remove some ears, limbs or other parts)

Please bring (mandatory) : your own plastic toy/animal
(e.g. from Schleich, Bullyland or Safari)
Level, to be able to crochet!! so no beginners.

Workshops Atelier Zaken
3 felt workshops by designer's collective ATELIER ZAKEN in which the artistic composition itself is the most important issue.

BROOCHE:
Starting point here is industrial felt with open flower motives, which can be used for cutting out organic forms. Coloured Merino wool will be wrapped around the cut out forms. After which they will be felted into a stunning design brooche. To complete the jewellery a dread could be made and added to the brooche by pulling it through the gaps for embellishment or to turn the brooche into a necklace!

CEINTUUR / BELT:

In this workshop we start with a piece of carded woolen fleece in which holes are cut followed by hand felting. Participants will also make several dreads which can be joined and pulled thru the gaps in a creative way. Thus creating a personal belt after one's own taste.
Felting experience is a must for this workshop. Registration code AZ2

HALSSIERAAD / NECKLACE:
For this necklace we start with a hollow form which will be made by wrapping and felting coloured carded wool around a tube. From the result various sizes of 'beads'can be cut. A dread will be made to enable you to string the beads. The form itself can also be used as a whole and cut partially in order to create a flexible snake form, with or without a dread to combine and wear.

Fiber Shoes - Sculptural Objects

As written before making a sculptural object is not a short process but in this workshop each step will be presented for the participants during the process time. They will practice themselves and see how to make a model shoe.

Fiber Tricks - jewellery for the interior
This workshop intends the use of recycled textiles to create small modules. A Wallhanging, separator or space devider, window decoration -both functional and artistic pieces could be created during the processed time.
