2-daagse workshop met Michel Garcia

Day 1:
During this class, Michel will present a fresh perspective about making pigments from raw plants, in order to be able to print on various types of natural textiles (wool, silk and cotton). Students will learn:  

*Making historical pigments, called “lakes”. 
  They will either be able to recycle and store for a long time any waste from plain dye activity, or to use a raw plant to create your own palette of plant dyes. 

*Making some soluble extracts from plants, and/or using the commercial products for plain dyes.

Day 2:
A complete overview of all possibilities of printing direct colors on textiles will be presented.
From our pigments and extracts, we will achieve a full range of shades by printing them on fabrics, and fixing the whole by steaming the pieces

NOTES
We will work sample size only in this class.

There will be a labfee for dyes and chemicals etc.

And for a fabric sample package.

A new dvd has come out in spring covering the Colours of Europe.

Inschrijven niet mogelijk

Zoals aangegeven zorgen wij voor alle verf en bijbehorende producten en natuurlijk voor een stalenpakket. De kosten daarvan worden hoofdelijk omgeslagen en zijn pas aan het eind vd workshop bekend.

Er is hoogstwaarschijnlijk weinig of geen tijd om vrij te werken maar voor het geval dat...neem wat reserve stof mee. klein formaat ! geen grote stukken.

Verder graag volgende zaken zelf meebrengen

penselen, evt. sjablonen, stempels etc
schilderstape, keukenrol, schaar, oude handdoek,
watervaste (permanente) stift voor textiel,
notitieboek (pen en papier),
babywipes, evt een haardroger (max.1000/1200W)
