NEW EXPLORATIONS IN SHIBORI:
ARASHI, ITAJIME,  SEWING MACHINE,
and SMOCKING MACHINE STITCH RESIST

Ana Lisa has been busy finding new directions in Shibori.

Join us to explore new concepts for arashi pole wrapping including distorting the cloth before and after wrapping,  Use sewing machine stitches through folded layers to create a “clamp”, explore the use of a smocking pleater to make patterns and pleats, and Itajime clamps to resist scour organza. We will also include the use of carved clamps. Our dye applications will include acid dyes and thickened fiber reactive dyes.

NB: Ana Lisa heeft onlangs 2 nieuwe DVD's uitgegeven o.a. over de nieuwe toepassingen van bovengenoemde shibori technieken en het gebruik van Kakishibu.
